Matt Blunt Unbalances Budget On Backs of Retail Consumers

Matt Blunt has signed legislation to make a permanent sales tax holiday:
Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt on Wednesday signed a bill making permanent a sales tax holiday during the first weekend in August.

The tax-free weekend first was offered last year, with the intent of giving shoppers a break on back-to-school purchases.
Although we at DMB2008 do not directly benefit from this, as we do not have school age children that need new clothes and pencils, we laud any scaling back of taxes and scaling back of state "services."
